You are so lucky there to have a decent insurence with the AMA... here the federation insurance it TERRIBLE! They only cover third party, and heres the trick... other federation members arn't considered third party! Also, the family of a federation member isn't considered third party either! So basically, here, that poor kid's parents would have had to sue the pilot to get him to pay privately, and most people are flying thinking they are covered when really they arn't! On top of that, most clubs oblige you to pay federation membership when it ONLY benifits you if you competition fly... you don't even get a vote at meetings as a fed member unless you compete! They have caused a big mafia style system that's really best to avoid, and that's why the best option here is to get private insurance, which many insurance guys that also fly have worked out very fair policies that cover well and cost less than federation membership!

Great Pod Cast as always! Was really cool to hear you talk about Noah. He just attended a smaller event that that we held In Des Monies just prior to that called NIFF. There he brought along his little Brother (4yrs Old) and he also proved to be a very accomplished pilot for his age!

In your podcast you David asked about Aluminum arms for multi rotors.
http://www.non-ferrous.com/website/portfolios/square-tube-extrusion/
This is one I found but you are just looking for 1/2" x 1/2" AL extrusion, many different places can and will do this for you.

Thanks

Guys, As usual very informative. David, You should check back on RCPowers, A lot has changed since you built the F1 Hydro. Yes, the old videos were great and have changed to more produced formats with voice overs. BUT! What matters is the planes. The planes are all score and fold now. Very easy to build and scale looking compared to the ancient F1 Hydro, No pinning and gluing. Dave and Scott are releasing the v4's this spring. The v3's and v4's are using lots of control and design tweaks for stability and maneuverability that we all can learn from.Yes, they are primarily Jets. Jay and I at FRCFoamies ( I gave you our Alpha Jet Kit at NEAT) were inspired by them as well, RCPowers has a very knowledgeable, beginner friendly membership without the attitude of the larger forums and has spawned many of us designers.

Another great podcast guys. I listen to them in my truck and always have problems with the audio levels for Josh Bixler. Could move him closer to the mike or tighten his shorts to nudge him up an octave (not to David's levels though).

I second that about Josh Bixler, strap a mic on him! Or leave him out (juist kidding). It takjes a lot of energy to listen to him because of his sound level and car noise.

I enjoy it... but I third that motion. I have to turn the volume up in my car while driving when Josh B. talks. Maybe a headset with attached mic would help... or turn up the P or I gain... or would that be B gain?

I'll triple that :) Please velcro a mic to Josh B.

Hi guys, great podcast as usual :) Just a thing though. The intro at the beginning - I kind of preferred it when you just leaped straight into the podcasts. I know you have to advertise, but maybe you could do that when you start talking during the content. Just a thought!

From the UK: I really liked David's Blade Quad review, near perfect, and he saved me from buying one. I started looking into it a LOT more carefully and the prop problems in particular put me off. I am getting a DJI Phantom instead. I think RC Powers is great, are you sure that your info is up to date. Plus, I would still like you to take on the challenge of showing how to adapt a FT plan (or plans) to DEPRON. I have listened to ALL your podcasts and it DOES seem to keep coming up.

For Josh B, some of us HAVE to go it alone...

Unfortunately those 20 hours are just time spent riding in the airplane and I don't have any actual flying time in the aircraft other than the quick photo opportunity. The museum in Urbana, OH is building a B-17 mostly from scratch and also operate a B-25 in flying condition.

Great podcast as usual guys!

Hey guys, thanks for the fun commentary. Looking forward to seeing you at Weak Signals in Toledo.

During this podcast you had a reader ask about the Hobbyking DLG. Not sure which one they were talking about, but just in case it happens to be the same one I have done a quick-n-dirty vid series on the HK Mini-DLG (fortunate to win this on their comments contest last year).

By all means, I'd love to see you guys do a DLG episode again (I know you did one in the past), but like I said, in case this is of use to the other user I'll pass along the playlist:

Sorry Josh B I am such a big fan and love your designs but people have different views. Why do grown men think that Santa clause sorry/god should be forced into peoples heads. I love your episodes but you are going out to a larger audience now and you have to be more balanced. I don't need to feel guilt or have fear proscribed to me showing ways to be nice to other people, I am just nice to them it is my choice. I make life nicer for the people around me and then I die. I am an atheist and scientist there is no life beyond death (unless any data shows otherwise) religion is the cause of most wars. That does not feel very righteous to me. You can't resolve the worlds problems through song. We need money behind funding for food and agriculture and medicine not happy clappy church. Please keep the religious references out. I do not pester you with atheistic phrases. I keep myself to myself, well apart from now but I am bloody annoyed.

@ Andy from Germany. I had great success with "Innenwand-Dämmung SELITHERM 7 mm 50 x 80 cm" from the Company called "Hornbach" hidden in the painting and NOT "ISOLATION AND MATERIALS" section. i builded the most of the FT scratch builds with this material. You have to add or subtact 2mm on the folds from the plans and use packing tape for layerling because you have no paperside on that. with packingtape its nearly undestructable in my case.
