RC Sidewinder Missle w/ plans

This is a Scratchbuilt RC Sidewinder I made. Uses a Grayson Hobby SuperSonic V2 motor, Grayson Hobby 30 amp ESC, 3cell 1500 mah battery, and four EXI 9-gram metal gear servos. Built from two pieces of Dollar Tree foamboard, and one 3 7/8 x 11 7/8 foam cone available at Michaels Arts and Crafts. Lucked out and apparently nailed the C.G. first try. Quick and easy build, took me about three hours. Flys amazingly well, let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

So, here's the plans if anyone is interested in trying one of these out. Made from two sheets of 30"x20" Dollar Tree foamboard. Both sides are identical, other than the 1/4"x15" joining slot, which goes from the top to the halfway point on the horizontal part of the missle, and goes from the bottom to the halfway point on the vertical part of the missle, and includes a space cut out to fit your battery, which allows both halves to be slid together. I guesstimated the C.G. and it seemed to fly just fine, mine balances right in the middle of the foamboard, at 15"s. I used four barbeque skewers slid into the top and some hot glue to attach the nose cone. Make sure to trim about a 1/4" off of the end of your control surfaces to allow clearance for them to still move while the missle rests upright. You'll notice I use alot of 1 1/4' measurements, this is because my metal rulers are exactly that wide, and it's much quicker to trace the width of the ruler, as opposed to measuring every single thing out. Hopefully that's not too confusing, let me know if anyone has any questions, thanks, and good luck!

Actually, the C.G. wasn't bad, just guessed and balanced it right in the middle, and went for it... beginners luck, i guess!

That thing is cool. Have you flown it without the streamers? Its there a speed difference if you have? Very inventive.

Yeah, first few test flights were without streamers, didn't notice much of a difference in speed really... And thanks, Jake!
