A Mitchell from an unlikely Place!

We haven't had the best experience with Banana Hobbies and are nervous about their planes. But, sometimes you need to jump. The biggest reason why we hopped on the Mitchell, was because of the difficulty finding a foam model of this plane.

The price of this plane, came into an amazing point,  of $169 USD when on sale.

Overall, I am pretty happy with how good this plane looks, in the green, it feels correct. When unboxing the plane, we discovered that BlitzRCWorksGroup is more than manufacture.


Looking over the plane, I notice the retracts were metal, which is unless at this price point. Typically, they are nylon-fiber impregnated housings. This is a beautiful feature to have, they are strong and should last a long time. Looking at the nose retract, we have a lot of foam around it, which should increase the durable of the plane! This is something that weak on the FMS Mitchell.  The foam and feel of the aircraft is awesome. The longer I hold the plane, the more and more I want to fly it. I have a soft spot for Mitchells.

The battery hatch was different from most models we have owned in the past.  It comes off from the top, revealing where the wings get attached. Usually, you need to slide the wings in. There is ample space for a large 3s 3600 mah battery. However, there is not a strap for it. She sits in there and pushes against the front tab of the battery hatch. After in the cavity, there is a two plug connection board for the wings. This simplifies the amounts the number of connections needed to make from the wing down to two links. I appreciate this feature and is something I have added to other planes! When a strong magnet, the battery hatch spans into the place.

Getting the plane together was a little rough. The screw for the tail was not long enough. I was lucky enough to have a longer M3 screw. The wings also include leds light which I love!

Something to note about this plane, you will need a 3s 3600 battery to get the CG correct. Anything smaller, the plane would be tail heavy! But once that battery is in, she has a ton of power!


Overall I am giddy over this plane! If it was not dark at the time of building this plane, I would have run down to the local airfield and flown her. There are a few drawbacks from this plane with the how you are supposed to glue on the guns, the short M3 screw, and not battery strap.
