RedCloud's F.P.V. F4U Corsair.
Tower Hobbies F4U Corsair
1000kv motor. 30amp esc. 3s 2200 battery
5.8ghz.200mw Tx and a HobbyKing E-OSD
FH18c 520tvl mini camera from Foxtech with a 2.1mm lens sitting on a $5 HobbyKing 180° servo
875 grams AUW without the landing gear
The 39" F4U from towerhobbies was a breeze to assemble. Everything about is seems high quality. Made from robust EPO foam.
A 2200 3s in the nose blocks most of the air flow through the fuselage so I set the esc into the outside of the fuse and added a better heatsink. The video Tx and cp antenna are inside the fuse but with the relatively short flight times heat is not a problem.
Preparing the canopy for the camera and servo was tedious but well worth it. I used a couple short carbon rods and some epoxy to strengthen the canopy and keep it from blowing in the wind.
The motor and esc are more than enough to pull the plane and my fpv gear into the sky without any hesitation.
For $95 to my door it doesn't get much better than this! (I used a coupon code or two.)
This airplane has only been flown FPV. Goggles on from take off to landing. FPV all the way!
Also I'd like to thank my trusty spotter.
