I used a 3D modeling program called Blender. I have been using the program for about 8 years now. I have been thinking of ways to integrate my love of graphic design with my love of RC planes/Flite Test. I really enjoyed creating this model.

Thank you for your suggestion. Honestly I did rush the motor a bit. I thought about using Maya but decided on blender because I can accomplish it a bit faster. Tomorrow I will be doing the spitfire, I will put more time in the motor though, Thanks

Looks really nice, may I ask what program you used to create this?

Nice one mate, my suggestion would be to bevel your edges, especially the ones on the powerpod, that slight bevel will help catch the light and make it look a bit less CG. If you're hoping for the realistic look, you could spend a little bit more time on the motor, it looks a little small at the moment, and maybe do the rubber bands holding the landing gear on, I'm not too familiar with Blender, but in max or maya this is pretty easy, so it shouldn't be too hard to achieve. if you're just going for a stylised version rather than a realistic version, fantastic job mate. keep it up :)

I would like to learn Blender, but not sure where to start. What would you recommend?

may i ask what you do with these, i find it kind of pointless to do this if you don't have a use for it, are you making posters or something, or do you do it for fun

That is a good question. I was thinking of making a movie with them. I am still debating on if I should do that or not. I am planning on printing these on a 3ft sheet of poster paper and hang them on the walls in my office. Maybe Flite Test can get with me and print them as posters in there store. For right now though, they are just for your enjoyment. :)
