H-Quad aluminum and plastic brackets.

Hi,

I was in the mood for a new H-Quad. And this time I used aluminium 15x15mm bars. To connect the bars together I used plastic brackets that are made for making your own shelves. All bolted together with 4mm bolts and loctite

Under is a close up off the plastic brackets. And the FPV camera, covered in a plastic box for protection.. 

To cover the 2.0KK board and the receiver I used a standard 80x80mm electrical box.

Just waiting for calmer weather, for the maiden, and to see the quality off vibrations in the movie.

Have not been in the air, due to windy conditions. Hope for a maiden tomorrow. I will get back to you on flight time

Managed a small flight this evening, even if it was windy. Little over 7 min flight time before the low voltage alarm kicked in.

nice machine, do you made the plastic bracket design your self? the 15mm alumium is to heavy , if you want a lite frame you max 10-12mm with 1mm thickness also you can face the plate of the esc to the aluminium bar so this will make a cooling , you can use 4s on theses motor with out any problem and this will give you better stability , just my 2 cents

Thank you. The plastic bracket was bought in the local hardware store. I'm using 4
T-brackets, 2 on each side. They are intended for building shelf. Yes it is a little on the heavy side. But 15mm alu pipe was the best fit for the brackets. Appreciate your input. I will order some 4 cell next time, to test that. The 3 cell 2200 mAh gave me approx 7 min flight time.

Tried some flight this evening even if it was windy. So not the best weather to trim it in. But just wanted to test it. It flies nice and stable. And not to much vibrations to the camera, no jello effect. But the KK2.0 board need some more adjustment.
Unfortunately one propeller snapped in the air. And the Quad hit the ground hard. The frame took no damage, only one plastic bracket became damage. But 2 motor get smacked including motor mounts, the battery became deformed. And the camera took a solid hit. So some new parts have to be ordered. That's life in the RC hobby :-)
