Mini Black Trainer Scratch Build Using KFM Airfoil

Hi,

This is my new designed and scratch build plane. I call it as Mini Black Trainer.

I designed my own RC plane keeping following things in mind -

1.Should  fly slow and low.

2. Should be lightweight.

3. Good for Beginner flying skills.

Hence I came up with this Black Trainer.

Its 3 channel. Throttle, Rudder and Elevator.

Its main highlight is that I have used KFM-3 airfoil.  I found that this airfoil is good for slow flying and has good lift.

8 mm Styrofoam is used for wing and fuselage.

I have come up with a technique using cello tape to fold Styrofoam to get a nice smooth, sharp leading edge.

Then I cut the wing in half and glued them back with one side lifted up about 3 inches to get the Dihedral.

So the KFM-3 Wing is ready. There are two steps - First at 50 % and second at 75 % of the Chord length.

Then for the fuselage, 2 inch foam strip are used to form a tube.

On the bottom plate of fuselage, all the electronic component's placement layout is drawn to make it easier to place.

Then finally attaching Horizontal and vertical stabilizer to fuselage.

And finally, this is my Mini Black Trainer ready to fly. AUW is under 250 grams.

Happy Flying..)
