Must have tools in RC hobby

We all need some tools in our hobby, different kind of scerwdrivers, pliers, etc....I have a lot of them, and they are quite cheap if you buy them on various Chinese online stores. And there is a catch, those cheap ones are usually of very poor quality.

I will start with hex screwdrivers.

Various parts on RC vehicles like drones, planes and helicopters use hexagonal screws in their assembly. I bought cheap set from eBay I think as they looked very handy, but their quality is not that good. Material of screwdriver tips is too soft and after couple of hard tightenings, they wear off.

This happens most often with those thinnest tips like 1.5mm and 2mm. Thicker ones like 3mm or more can handle stronger screw tihtnigs only couple of times more than those 1.5mm ones.

So i had to find replacement for that, and I ordered titanium ones from Banggood. Well these are much better. Titanium is much harder material than steel and these screwdrivers will handle much greater forces without wearing off.

Handle is still made of aluminium which keeps these screwdriverd very light and comfortable in hadns when you are using them. Tips are a little big longer than my old ones, but that doesn't make any problems. Actually, it may be very helpfull when you have to reach some screw deep in the fuselage. And those tips are repaleable. Excellent.

Second handy tool we all ned is soldering station with hands manufactured by STP Starpower

This one surprised me well, I expected some low quality hands on this soldering station but that is not the case here. Base plate is made of  thick aluminium and is quite heavy. that is excellent , you enough need weigt if you want to have your soldering station stedy when doing some work. There are 5 hands that easy screw in the plate and they are stiff enough to use with heavier components yet, easy to bend in desired position. Clams on the hands are strong and isolated with silicone caps so you won't damage any part you are working on. And on the base plate there is a room for soldering sponge and a place where you can put your soldering iron when not used.

I have mounted small drone on left side of it so you can see how stable this thing is. Highly recommended. That soldering iron is TS100 which I reviewed in my previous article and that is the best soldering iron I have used in my 30 years of experience with electronics.

Anyway, I higly recommend this 5 hand soldering station as it has proved to be a very good product.
