Hello everyone, this is the first article I wrote. I began to be interested in foam board plane about 2 years ago. But I just started to try to make it myself about 6 months ago. This is the third glider I tried to make. The first one flies horribly, crashing to the ground after only flying for about 2-3 meters. The second one flies pretty good, but breaks down spectacularly after crashing to a tree ( I didn't have a lot of open space, and the park near my house is pretty small, and is just crowded with trees ). So this is probably my second successful glider, because I haven't tested it in the park yet, but i have tried a short flight and it flies pretty good.
I made it from 2mm polyfoam, and I had to use tape for re-enforcement, because my foam doesn't have paper on it and my friend borrow my hot glue gun, and go on a trip without telling me, so my hot glue gun is trapped inside my friend's house. And actually now the plane is lighter than usual. So it flies better than the previous plane. The tape I'm using is PVC insulation tape, and double tape. I use PVC tape because it's very elastic. I use the PVC tape to strengthen the folds, and double tape to stick two pieces of foam together. I made the body in a triangular shape to make it stronger, the nose is removable, and the wing is pretty much the wing of the ft tiny trainer. The glider is actually pretty strong, and a because I only use tape, it's a lot easier to replace broken parts. So, that's it for my first article, and I'll probably update again after I test it in the park tomorrow, and make a new glider :-)
