had to try out the landing gear josh made it works great !!

well i went out and flew today they flew great but my jet was under powered so i put a 8.6 prop on it but the motor was getting pretty warm... i put the silver monster motor from lasertoys.com . with a 3 cell 500 mah . does anyone know why the motor got so hot ? the specs said it would handle a 8.6 prop

hi ronnie i have built a fiew of these f22s they go well (untill i crash them doing stupid things) your motor will get hot with the bigger prop if the flight weight of the plane is too high or you are flying with high throttle settings. i love to fly these things fast so i upped the recomended motor size and use a 3s 1300mAh battery. just moved the battery back to get the cg right. i also set the motor down into the plane with the motor shaft in line with the wing. these things are great fun in a dog fight!!! i make them from 3/16 foam board and i leave the paper on for strength. have fun and fly hard!

Ditto on all the compliments on the paint jobs and craftmanship.
This is a newbie question, but couldn't you make some type of a heat heat sink cooler for the motor? Finned computer sinks worked great on processors.

Very cool color scheme! I just finished building the body of my FT Bloody Wonder a few days ago and I might do a design similar to this. And ironically enough my other friend built the F-22 Raptor as well, and I'm sure he would think the same for using your design as well! Thanks for sharing.
