While we were at JoeNall 2015 we met Chris and Melonie, a flying family who doesn't pilot planes or multirotor or helicopters, but something that we've never even heard of before.
Say hello to radio controlled skydiving!
These little dudes are fully equipped with a working scale parachute. Inside the guts are servos to control the arms and legs.
These are fully controllable even before the parachute is deployed. The positioning of their arms and legs creates more or less drag the exacte same way real skydivers control their rate of descent.
This is the beauty of events like JoeNall. Meeting wonderful like minded people who will introduce you to aspects of the hobby you may not even know about.
Chris and Melonie were strangers before that day, and they were willing to strap their skydivers to Peter's giant cargo so we could enjoy the magic of flight together.
Speaking of Peter's giant cargo plane, the official name has been decided. What's a giant version of a guinea pig? The Capybara!
If you are planning on coming to FlightFEST this year you will be able to see this guy up close and personal.
