Rotor Bones Tilt 13-370

Tilting motor mount and landing gear for tricopters. Supports motors up to 370 size (45g) and 8X4.5 props.

These are the assembly instructions for the Rotor Bones Tilt 13-370 motor mount and landing gear. You can purchase this product HERE.

The Rotor Bones Tilt 13-370 motor mount and landing gear package includes one complete unit. It's laser-cut from acetal resin, an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts requiring high stiffness, low friction and excellent dimensional stability.

NOTE: Does not include the servo. We recommend a micro digital, metal gear servo.

TGY-375DMG Metal gear Digital Servo

Designed around common 1/2" (13mm) square wood dowels, to be used as booms.

Pop out all the parts.

These are all the parts layed out. You linkage stoppers (the little silver things that hols the pull rods onto the servo) might look different than the ones pictured. Don't worry, they do the same thing.

Install the center strut first. Don't worry everything is symetrical so you can't install it backwards.

Add the front and rear supports.

From this point on it'll be easier to asseble it by sliding it on the wood arm. Add the top mount plate.

Add one of the side pannels.

Now set te landing gear aside and we'll work on the motor mount. First add the Control tab.

You may have to press it firmly against the table to get it in all the way.

Turn over the mount and install the other inge tabs.

Now mark the hole to drill for the screw and locknut.

Get out of here hobby king... they release the plans and hobby king will steal it so fast it wouldn't be funny. of course hobby king will probably still steal it anyway.

Why don't you at least BUY a set and then scan em and rip em off like you plan on doing. I look forward to seeing all the quality video production you do with your spoils. Oh wait you cant do that You don't have any bucks cause you bought a Laser Cutter so you could rip these guys off.....
The world is not free, amazing as it seems, it's true.

I did not see a spec for the servo on the build list, which do you recommend?

I rated the article 4 stars because of this minor omission.... hey, somebody has to pay the piper.... lol I am utterly amazed at how fast you guys keep bringing stuff to the store, You have added Speed build kits for the power pods, laser cut firewalls, Landing Gear Kits, Rotor Bones, soon a camera mount, (hint hint). You guys must never sleep.

It's personal preference but also it depends on if you already have mini servos for it. The Tri-Copters have a listed recommendation for the servo depending on what "model" it is but I see where you are coming from that they could have added a recommendation for their Tri-Copters.

Ok first suggestion, when you set up your Go Pro Hero 3 mounts, make em so that you can leave it in the case, none of this running around with layer lens or rage cam stuff on there. I got lucky on my epic Mid Air with a pizza box, but I don't expect that luck to last.

This is the one seen in the pictures above: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__24763__Turnigy_TGY_113MG_Metal_Gear_Digital_Servo_2_2kg_0_10s_12g.html

However, at the top of this page they recommend this one: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__30686__TGY_375DMG_Metal_gear_Digital_Servo_w_Heat_Sink_2_3kg_11sec_11_5g_US_Warehouse_.html

Is the one they use basically the same or good enough for the price as the one they recommend?

Great work guys. I just bought a set to build a new quadcopter... small suggestion: Please design a set that is twice the hight (or more) to build taller quads. I have a few larger camera's I'd like to hang. If you build it I'd totally buy the taller set too.

I agree with Mark. I like running the small pan tilt gopro rigs off ebay, (cause someone we know has not yet released theirs.. ;-) ) so these would be good when you release your mounts. My vote is a Hero 3 mount, and one that is large enough to keep the case on. Yes it is heavier, but $400 every time I crash becomes a very steep learning curve...

I love tricopters!! But the yaw mechanism/servo has always been daunting. (I'm now flying a quad) This yaw mechanism is awesome! It really looks good. My concerns: That CF motor mount will snap (like it did in my HK X900) and the price. $26 and change for one yaw mech and nothing for the other two feet? Maybe I misread it, but that's too expensive for what it is - but that's just my own opinion. Other than that, it's really awesome!

Will the legs be released as plans as the main body?
Would like to test 3d printing the parts...

Wish these were built to fit a 78g dt700. :/ My HK tri is out of commission because of a broken yaw mech.

May be stupid, but quick tip. Do not tighten the speed adjusters on the servo arms as the mechanism will bind. It took me a little to figure that out so I thought it may save someone some time. They must spin within the servo arm hole, hence the uttermost importance for the thread locker!
