Simple Airfoil: Under Camber

This is a very simple under camber style airfoil for small to medium size planes, here are steps to build it:

first get your dollar tree foamboard ready, I like to clamp my foamboard down to the table so it doesn't slide around when I work this also flatens out the foamboard.

next mark dots at 4-1/2'', 6'' and 10-1/2''

then draw lines down the marks you just made

you'll need to make score cuts at the 4-1/2'' mark, the 6'' mark, and a full cut at the 10-1/2'' mark

then gently slide a popsicle stick down the two score cuts, this will crimp down the foam and make it easer to bend

next flip the foamboard over and if you look closely you'll see two small lines where you made your score cut

next cover the lines with packaging tape

Now you're finished! this is a great airfoil for all slowflyers because it gets tons of lift. This wing will work great with a Taylorcraft or Piper Cub style plane.

I'd suggest moving the point at which the aerofoil curves to 25% back from the leading edge.
