the build and flight of the STINZER

by brianm311 | July 7, 2013 | (4) Posted in Projects

this is my stinzer my first attempt at my own design useing a few ideas from some other planes the body measures 40inches lng by 5inches wide by 51/2 tall down to 21/2 at the tail it is similar to the stinson reliant

the nose cone came from a glassair sportsman i did some repairs to for a friendnotice how close the pod is to the aileron!! after prop clearance adjustments this was the final resting place!! phew thats tight!!

this is the finished wing didnt run the wires inside since it was going to be a top mount wing i used the lazertoyz motor and esc combo they sell for the cruzer.                  (stinson/cruzer=STINZER!!!)

removed some of the length from the engine pods to make them fit the wing wanted to change the look of the wing just a little for a different look

top view of the stock cruzer wing

checking prop clearance to see if i could use a cruzer wing

checking rudder and elevator to make sure there 45degrees

i origanlly went with a tail dragger but decided to make it tricycle instead

note the shorter pods hope they work like that!!

all stickered up and ready for a maiden!!!

Interesting little plane! It'd be cool to add in the split flaps feature!
