The Hawker Typhoon MK IB, Tornado Type "N", and The Tempest MK V are
"The Perfect Storm"
I apologize in advance for the brief and tragic flight video that you are about to watch. It seams weather isn't the only obstacle I'm facing. It was late afternoon when I finally got into the air, so the low sun, lack of decent video equipment, ( Couldn't keep it in the video frame.) and minimal flying skills made this a really short one. I do have better video equipment on the way though, and I'm crashing as many aircraft as I can to get that out of my system as well. What did I learn from this experiance? Patience! When your gut says wait. It's probably a good idea to listen. Oh..... and foam really does bounce prety high!

Typhoon MK IB
I originally designed the Typhoon MK IB because I love warbirds and most other aircraft have been played out. We all know and love the Mustang, Spitfire, Messerschmit, and others, but the Hawker Series created a chance for me to develope a series in itself due to the numerous versions that were created based on the same or similar airframe. Interestingly enough, the Typhoon was often mistaken for the FW 190 due to it's snub nose and straight wing. You may notice as I have in the video I've posted. The Tempest looks strikingly like the 190 so I'm already working on my version of that one!
Once the Typhoon was created it was not dificult to add the changes that wre to become
The Tornado Type "N"
The Tornado was only slightly different ftom the Typhoon in the earlier versions, and It's actually hardly noticable. It was more heavally armed and was powered by the Napier - H2 24 cylindar engine. Classified as a prototype and given the paint scheme of a yellow undercaraige and modified canopy. Later versions received more extensive modifications. Note the two rows of exhaust stacks!
The Tempest MK V
The Tempest was more of a chalanging modification, and what a pleasure it was! The eliptical wing planform is the most obvious modification in this design, and by chance eliminated the need for a rear spar, or spacer you might call it. This allows the TE to land on the work surfce where it needs to durring construction. Other modifications include a slightly larger virtical fin, and a true bubble canopy. As it turns out theTempest was one of the most powerfull single seat weapons platforms used durring WW II
All three are a swoppable design, and my versions are powered by a 1200 Kv motor, 25 Amp ESC, and 1300 mAh 4S Lypo. I chose to go with a 9 X 5.5 prop Due tthe amount of surface area taken up by the radiator inlet cowel, and the size of the spinner used. The original designs actualy had an inverted gull wing design which was hardly noticeable, so I opted for the sake of simplicity to go with polyhedral wings. Joining the two wing halves is a breeze. I've incorperted a dihedral brace in the plans that is actually inserted into a slot at the root of the wing durring construction, and this makes it easy to get the correct dihedral angle.
Each design takes about three sheets of Adams Foamboard, and are all fully capable of utilizing flaps. Construction is standard to most foamboard builds. So simple... I built all three versions in just a weeks time, and I'm already planning a landing gear modification for the future.
They are already available for download, and come with a complete set of instructions, decal sheets, and colored, printable canopies. Special Note: The canopies are in flat pattern design and thank you to Pintokitkat for the pointer on using laminate pouches to make glass effect canopies.
