A tribute to the Marine FT Spit Fire

I am completely addicted to the simple and inexpensive process of creating an RC plane that flies great, has little stall characteristic and keeps spectators captivated. I have completed serveral Ft builds now from the swappable series including the cruiser, versa wing, old speedster, and now the spitfire! I must admit, this is my finest build.

I got into war birds with the parkzone corsair and learned fast to carry speed when banking, but with the tip of building a war bird that has little stall characteristics and great gide slope I was sold.

In a matter of a week I was able to print my plans (for free!!) cut out and trace the plans, and hot glue it all together. Thank you flite test!

With the help from motion rc I was able to power the plane with a .10 sized supertigre brushless. I must say that I am only running it on a 20a esc but I will put in a 30a turnigy as soon as Hobby King gets it to my door. The way it is powered now runs this plane plenty of power. It is not the fastest bird in the sky but I can point the nose up and it will climb to no end.

I have a 8x6 apc prop and with a 2200 and the plane can do 9 minutes of casual flying using only 40% of the battery leaving plenty of juice for sporting around.

Ok enough of the babbling. Enjoy the pics, and a quick mention to the marine FT spitfire. I loved the design and was inspired to paint the same scheme. Cheers.

The last touch was my pilot, courtesy of three year old Amelia who was nice enough to part with one of her M&Ms, with a cut of out a poland spring bottle secured to the sides of the fuselage with packing tape. Simple, and fun. Thumbs up boys, Happy Flying. :)

You did a great job you can tell it is not your first build I like my FT spitfire so much that i had the monster FT spitfire plans printed $165.00 later i picked them up when i got home and opened them up they seemed bigger than i though i got my calculator out and the print shop printed them at 300% instead of 200% to give you a idea of the size the stabalizer and elevator are 53 inches wide and 21 inches deep i am going to build it this winter i will have to add lots more strength but it might end up as a lawn ornement the motor and servos will be more than i could swing who knows i might find a partner at the flying club

I love the pilot. Nice plane... I may have to build one too. Make sure you build a plane for that little girl and get her flying!
