FPV: no trees, no fun

by DriesRC | February 14, 2013 | (0) Posted in Just Fun

Doing some extreme proximity FPV, with a "KESL" flying wing.

Just a basic 1.3ghz 800mw fpv system with stock antennas, and a basic 40mhz RC system.

Plans for the flying wing can be found on rcgroups. It's a very nice, responsive, and predictable plane, a great platform for FPV, recommend.

Flying through as many trees as possible is the goal:

Enjoy

Thanks. the plane is a KESL flying wing from RCgroups.com, just scaled it up to 40 inch span. I'm using a 3000mah 3s lipo.
The RC system is an old Graupner MX-12 40mhz, and an R700 40mhz receiver.
The fpv system is a FOX 1.3ghz 800mw, and a Sony 1/3 inch CCD camera, that cheap one from hobbyking, with a high angle lens. I'm using the stock antennas FPV, because I have some problems with my homemade CP antennas, due to the VTX, because my VSWR is perfect. (tested myself with a DIY VSWR meter from IBcrazy)
I ordered a G-OSD from hobbyking, but I still have to flash it to have a return to home arrow, so that will be for the near future.
Actually a pretty basic setup, Just for great proximity fun.
The camera for recording is a Keychain #16.
Hope this is clear enough ;)
