In today's review I check out the FPV905 Plug & Play 900Mhz 500mW FPV System from Hobby Wireless. We check out the entire system from what you need or don't need to wire it up and installing it on your plane or quad. We then put it in the air and give it a test flight to see how this system works.

This is a great option to fly FPV without interference problems with 2.4 GHz R/C radios.

Details:

Perfect system if you fly on 2.4 Ghz Radio Control.
The FPV905 system has everything you need to make your jump into fpv flying.
(It does not come with video monitor, recorder, video glasses).
This is a complete plug and play wireless system set, and within few minutes can have have everything connected and working wirelessly.
This combo uses PLL (Phase-Locked Loop) technology to prevent frequency drift.
The plug and play board has lots of important features built-in such as:

- High quality microphone
- Audio volume control
- High quality 5v voltage regulator (no heat and noise free)
- Reverse-Polarity Protection (avoids damage if you plug the battery pack inverted)
- Dual power output (provides selectable power for 5 and 12 volts cameras)
- Molex connector with safety latch (prevents connection to come loose while in use)
- Power LED (helps to identify bad power connection, reminds you to disconnect power when it's not in use)

This system also has 4 different selectable channels and adding a high gain antenna you will exceed the range of 1 mile.

The FPV905 transmitter can be powered through a JST connector using any DC power source from 10.5 to 13 volts (note: a 3s 11.1v lithium polymer battery can be used to power the system).

 Package includes:
- R900 high sensitivity receiver
- Receiver's Audio and video output cable with RCA connectors
- Receiver and Transmitter antennas
- Transmitter has four (4) selectable channels (USA version only Channel 1 is available. It does not affect the performance of the transmitter)
- Power Plug for receiver is included
- Universal camera leads are included
- Transmitter 900Mhz 500mW with built-in microphone
- Camera is not included, but you can add your favorite camera to plug and play with this combo.

I have used it for a few months now and it works great. I am only using spektrum but would have not issues flying far with it. One of the guys i fly with is on 900 and i am staying on 1.2 and we have no issues at all with it. 1.2-900-2.4 for video are the ones to stay with in my book.
