Flite Test Moves Manufacturing to Lauren International Headquarters

Flite Test Ramps Up Production Capabilities by Joining Parent Company at New Philadelphia Facility

(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OH) - Lauren International company Flite Test has transferred its manufacturing to a larger location in New Philadelphia, doubling their manufacturing space with room to expand. The facility allows Flite Test to fulfill and ship customer orders more efficiently, and add more jobs to support their thriving online store.

“We want to thank our awesome community for helping us grow to this point,” said Josh Bixler, President of Flite Test. “Our goal is to be able to provide the best quality products, top notch innovation and an exceptional customer experience for many years to come.”

The new facility is part of the Lauren International campus in New Philadelphia, giving Flite Test access to Lauren’s expertise in manufacturing and fulfillment. This location also increases Flite Test’s fulfillment capacity for two upcoming FT Connections initiatives: educational program FT STEM and local FT Groups that will be launching in 2016.

“We’re ecstatic to take manufacturing to the next level as we prepare to launch FT STEM and FT Groups,” continued Bixler. “Our new production capabilities in New Philadelphia will help Flite Test to better serve our community members in the U.S. and beyond.” In addition to a larger facility and more streamlined manufacturing and fulfillment, Flite Test now has the capability to launch their products globally by utilizing Lauren’s bulk shipping and overseas distribution.

"The goal is to get Flite Test products into the hands of people who have not been able to purchase due to very high overseas shipping costs," said Austin Furey, Business Manager at Flite Test. "Despite these costs we still ship hundreds of international orders every month, which we greatly appreciate. However we have promised our community better international purchasing solutions and this is one of the final steps needed to make that happen."

Leading the efforts in New Philadelphia is Eric Alander, a Lauren engineer who joins the Flite Test team as Inventory and Manufacturing Manager. To support the new manufacturing facility, Flite Test will be hiring additional staff members to fill two new shipping and production.

When Chad first started producing Flite Test, I bet he could never have imagined this kind of expansion, and so relatively soon too!! He has moved on to other fantastic projects, but Josh is a firm captain to keep this good ship on a firm heading!! All I can wonder is what will the beast that is Flite Test eventually grow to become?

Since New Philadelphia is close to Dover, the Flite Test crew needs to run by Warther Carvings for some modeling inspiration. Amazing stuff Mr. Warther did.

If I lived nearby or met the age requirement, I could fill that Shipping Manager's position! :P

i would like FT to partner up with Radio shack.
I know it is a dying company, and this idea may save them.
i live in a medium size town in arizona, and i needed a soldering iron, and went to radio shack.
the place was empty of the "old" store things like electronic parts but, i saw two different sized servos for robotics, and realized that radioshack could stock basic rc parts and advertize flite test kits and power packages with minimal cost, compared to other supply stock.
FT just needs a nationwide distrubution platform and radio shack is a DIY type of geek magnet,to get people "hooked"! :)

Look on line at Spark Fun, or Adafruit, both are excellent sources for electronic gear, and supplies, as a note I got my Hakko soldering iron from tAdadfruit, yes it's a bit expensive, but it is worth the money if you plan on doing a lot of soldering, note the also have cheaper alternatives that are quality tools.

CONGRATS Flight Test crew!
I was so impressed with what you are doing. Offering FREE downloadable plans and your great quality speed build kits that I added a link to your website in our RC club website... www.mppapilots.com
Several of our members are now building your kits and scratch building and have a renewed interest in building as well as flying. THANKS FT.

Will you be considering custom laser cutting projects for people to submit self designs to get a "one of" foam only kit cut?

there's a bunch of laser cutting services online that could cut... would just need to convince 'em to get some foam board
