I am infatuated with the mighty minis. Super! They are so cute. I am a newbie with RC scratchbuilding and flying. I am just learning a lot with Flitetest together with the RC community here. Really helful people. ;)
This high wing trainer flies great with 6x4 prop and a 3S battery and 250 size quad motor 2300 KV. Thrust angle is slightly modified since this plane has a much heavier structure and a much greater angle of attack than the mid wing mini scout. Due to the P-factor and torque issues, it has right-down thrust angle. Slighty lesser in severity from our original mini scout in terms of right thrust but slightly higher in severity in terms of down thrust.
The CG is still the same since I just took the original unique wing of the mini scout. Same measurements to balance the plane.
The control surfaces are unchanged as well but higher throws are needed due to added weight.
I am very much convinced that the fun part of RC scratch building and flying is the memory that we make on it. The reward is really exponential when you fly what you build together with the important and lovely people around you!
