How to Remove Paper from Dollar Tree Foam (Joke)

You know, as simple as this video is, you made a lightbulb go off in my head. Instea of using depron to build scale foamies, you can use dtf with the paper on for the formers and dtf with the paper off for the skin.

Yup, only works with Dollar Tree brand. I guess they add the paper when the foam is still hot and don't use any glue. Every other brand uses glue.

I started to pretty much always remove the paper. If you replace the paper with packing tape then you'll never crease anything when you crash. The stuff can really take a beating then and only weights a little more than the foam with the paper on. It isn't as rigid, but that is what wire flags are for.

I think it's because here in NZ we can get a different kind of stuff and it costs like $7-$20 a sheet and the paper is really well glued on and will not come off if you try and peel it off, so that is why we need all those techniques. It makes scratchbuilding a pain if you have to peel the paper off.

with non dollar tree foam board you can iron off the paper i found this out by accident when trying to heat transfer a pattern on to the foam

I'm trying to find out if it's better to build with DTF paper on or off.
I think there's contradicting opinions on this.
I just finished 2 scratch builds of RC Powers planes; I left the paper on the first and removed the paper from some of the components on the 2nd.
What does the majority of foam board builders think?.
